Job Summary

As the Assistant Director of Recruitment and Admissions Operations, you will work as a member of the Office of Academic and Student Affairs (OASA) team, reporting to the Director of Recruitment and Admissions. You will provide leadership in recruiting, admissions, application development, and systems integration for the school. You will collaborate with the academic program directors, lead staff members for each degree program, the marketing and communications team, ITS partners and school administration. This position will oversee 2 FTE and up to 8 temporary staff.

The Recruitment, Admissions, and Financial Aid team is a part of the Office of Academic and Student Affairs (OASA). OASA teams are responsible for many aspects of the lifecycle of the student including recruitment, admissions, and financial aid; registration and student services; and academic programs and student life.

Responsibilities*

  • Provide leadership of all recruitment, marketing and systems integration for all academic programs in the School of Information.
  • Oversee processes from first inquiry through admission decision. Analyze trends and make recommendations on courses of action.
  • Design and oversee admissions decision processing for multiple degree programs. Collaborate with all organizations on campus units, and individuals involved in the admissions process.
  • Lead the implementation, tracking, and reporting on prospective student communication plans, pipeline progression, and ensure CRM system optimization.
  • Design and oversee the student application process for all UMSI academic degree programs; collaborate with UM and vendor partners. Responsible for the launch and updates of applications and application systems. Oversee the integration of the academic program strategic goals into application language and updates.
     

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in recruitment, admissions, enrollment management, in higher education or related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including team management, planning and managing projects involving multiple groups.
  • Demonstrated work with database systems; experience developing new reports, workflows, and iteration on existing systems.
  • Experience with best practices in student recruitment, CRM systems (e.g., Slate), data analytics and admissions practices.
     

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

This is a hybrid position. You may be required to travel to multiple locations on and off campus. The main office workspace for this position is located in the Leinweber Computer Science and Information building on North Campus. Punctual and regular attendance is required. You may be required to work during non-business hours and on weekends based on the requirements for your position.

Salary Information

The salary range for this position is $76,000 to $82,000. Salary is determined by direct relevant experience and demonstrated past performance results, while ensuring equity on our team. While rare, we may offer a salary above the posted range for an exceptionally qualified candidate, considering internal equity and budget. All candidates are encouraged to discuss salary questions to honor alignment and transparency throughout the recruiting process.

Background Screening
