Job Summary
The M2C2 Senior Business Systems Analyst will play a critical role on the leadership team of M2C2 and will be responsible for researching and improving various aspects of inpatient flow across the Adult, Mott, and Von Voigtlander hospitals. This position will serve as the primary resource for data management and analysis for M2C2. The analyst will build and maintain database structures and dashboards, use advanced tools for data mining and statistical analysis, and be able to translate findings into recommendations for diverse stakeholder groups.
This role is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical and analytical skills while partnering with M2C2 leaders across the bed management, admitting, transfer center, and clinical expediter groups to improve inpatient flow for our patients. The position will have dual reporting to the Director of M2C2 and the Program Manager for Capacity Strategy and Innovation.

Responsibilities*
Management of departmental data infrastructure (40%)
Build and maintain reports and dashboards describing key operational performance indicators. Periodic analysis of dashboard outputs to understand drivers of performance.
Design processes for data extraction, modification of data, and data storage. Maintain standard documentation of processes.
Conduct ongoing validation of the departmental data infrastructure to ensure accuracy and utility
Analyze business needs for further report or dashboard development, including clear documentation of requirements and specifications
Obtain and maintain relevant Epic certification or proficiency, primarily Clarity
Data analysis, design, and planning in support of projects (40%)
- Collaborate with staff and leaders both within and outside of M2C2 to conduct advanced analysis in support of operational projects related to patient flow and capacity management
- Act as subject matter expert on the translation of relevant Epic-based workflows into data elements
- Build and present clear, refined communications, including interpretation of analysis and recommendations to project stakeholders
- Build and maintain excellent working relationship with project teams and stakeholders
Strategic or departmental activities (20%)
Support data and analysis needs for departmental strategic, financial, and workforce planning activities
Engage in professional associations and MM data and analyst community
Mentor staff in data
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelors degree in health informatics, healthcare administration, computer science, or other relevant quantitative field
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, database management, and/or statistical analysis
- Experience data mining with SQL and experience in navigating relational databases to extract data
- Applied knowledge of analytic techniques such as descriptive analytics, regression analysis with R or similar, simulation modeling, time-series forecasting, hypothesis testing, optimization
- Experience with dashboard and report development using tools such as Tableau, Power BI
- Excellent collaboration, team building, and written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
Desired Qualifications*
Epic Clarity certification or proficiency
Experience in health IT, healthcare operations, or clinical domains
