As the Senior Salesforce Technical Lead, you will provide technical and team leadership for the Ross School's Salesforce platform and implementation initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Application Services, this role delivers scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions aligned with institutional priorities while establishing development standards, advancing best practices, and mentoring team members. With architectural oversight across the Salesforce ecosystem, the position leads complex implementations, integrations, and deployments in compliance with governance and security requirements. This role also supports the School's CRM strategy by designing end-to-end solutions across Salesforce clouds, including Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud, and ensuring alignment between business needs and technical execution.

Responsibilities*
Salesforce Technical Leadership (60%)
- Serve as Ross's senior Salesforce subject-matter expert and Lead Salesforce Administrator.
- Partner with IT staff, developers, departmental administrators, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions.
- Design and implement system automations (flows, formulas, validation rules, roll-ups) to improve processes and organizational performance.
- Lead platform architecture, including data models, security frameworks, integration patterns, and solution design across connected enterprise systems.
- Guide developers and administrators through technical design reviews, code reviews, and development best practices.
- Develop and extend Ross's enterprise data architecture across Salesforce and related systems.
- Support integrations with institutional and external systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, UM data warehouses, CollegeNET, DART, Slideroom).
- Ensure data assets are documented, stewarded, and leveraged across the organization.
Evaluate platform enhancements and help shape the long-term Salesforce strategy and roadmap

- Provide quality assurance on data integrity, processes, and deployments.
Business Intelligence (20%)
- Partner with business analysts and departments to develop reports and dashboards that support decision-making.
- Coordinate with project managers, administrators, and developers to scope and deliver Salesforce and Tableau reporting solutions.
- Analyze data and provide recommendations to improve reporting, processes, and system effectiveness.
Security & Compliance (10%)
- Implement Salesforce security best practices (profiles, permission sets, sharing rules) in collaboration with Ross IT system administrators.
- Support compliance with data governance and privacy standards.
- Assist with system backup and recovery processes.
Training & Development (10%)
- Maintain expertise through ongoing Salesforce and technology training.
- Partner with trainers and administrators to support platform adoption, enhancements, and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Science, or a related field, and at least 7 years experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Demonstrated success implementing Salesforce best practices and functionality in production environments.
- Demonstrated success leading or substantially contributing to multiple Salesforce integration projects, including Marketing Cloud.
- Demonstrated ability to design, build, or support Salesforce automations using Flow.
- Demonstrated ability to apply relational database and data management concepts in support of integrations, reporting, and data integrity.
- Demonstrated ability to assess the impact of Salesforce releases, enhancements, or configuration changes on upstream and downstream applications, systems, and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex requirements effectively with business and technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including through clear data presentation.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor team members on Salesforce architecture and related technologies.

Additional Information
The posting range for this position is $95,300 - $128,600. This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range. Compensation decisions are based on the details of each situation.
