We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant II (RA) to support an interdisciplinary research team on a project that investigates the historical mobilization and institutional role of the University of Michigan in the passage of Proposal 3. The RA will play a critical role in conducting archival research at the Bentley Historical Library, assisting with 20?25 oral history interviews, and performing media analysis using tools like VOSviewer. Successful candidates must possess advanced qualitative research skills?specifically in thematic coding and interview transcription?and demonstrate a deep scholarly or professional background in reproductive health, health policy, women?s history, or related fields. Previous experience with digital curation or public-facing humanities projects is highly preferred as we work toward launching an open-access digital exhibit and "Lessons Learned" toolkit.
Responsibilities*
As a Research Assistant II, responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performing routine research tasks, including qualitative data coding and analysis; participation in research team meetings; event planning; assisting in dissemination of research results to stakeholders and the community, including via the internet and social media; conducting scholarly research and writing literature reviews; reviewing and analyzing data; and more.
Required Qualifications*
Graduated or enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in sociology, social work, public health, gender and/or feminist theory or related field, as well as significant methodological training and excellent research and writing skills.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with a team.
