Job Summary
To provide support to the CHS HR Business Administrator and the CHS Dean's Office. This position reports directly to the CHS HR Business Administrator.
Responsibilities*
LEO Appointments and Evaluations - 35% effort
- Manage processing of LEO reviews including:
- Tracking appointments to ensure timely reviews
- Notifying lecturers of reviews
- Creating review cases in Interfolio
- Providing administrative support
- Closing cases and filing documentation
- Manage processing of LEO appointments including:
- Maintaining a spreadsheet of course loads
- Creating and sending appointment letters and layoff letters
- Completing LEO semester worksheets
- Assisting departments with basic questions about effort and seniority
HR Related Support - 35% effort
- Create posts and manage the posting-to-hire process for temporary and GSRA postings
- Monitor active faculty and staff postings, saving posting documents and candidate materials in job postings drive
- Send new hire CHS welcome email with relevant information and resources
- Create and maintain electronic files for all new hires, and add them to appropriate distribution lists, tracking sheets, etc.
- Coordinate completion and filing of forms for faculty and staff
- Approve temporary employee timesheets
General Administrative Support - 30% effort
- Serve as contact person in absence of CHS HR Business Administrator for CHS personnel
- Provide support for College and Department events, including coordinating food, reserving event spaces, and sending invitations
- Provide support for CHS Finance Business Administrator, including
- Assisting with CHS journal entries and reconciliation
- Initiating funds transfers when errors are identified
Required Qualifications*
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Four (4) or more years of administrative support experience
- Experience using Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite products

Modes of Work
Hybrid
The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or job requirements.
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Background Screening
The University of Michigan conducts background checks on all job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background checks. Background checks are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
