Responsibilities*
Study animal models of thyroid disease, and cell culture models of thyroid cell death. The work includes skills in animal handling, euthanasia, tissue dissection and preparation for microscopy, immunofluorescence studies, RNA isolation for transcriptomic studies, cell culture, transfection, gene silencing (knockdown), biochemical analyses, protein gel electrophoresis and immunoblotting.
Required Qualifications*
Ph.D. in Physiology
Experience in molecular biology
Animal handling experience
Training in biochemistry
Mammalian cell culture experience
Authored/co-authored at least a dozen papers not including abstracts/conferences
