Job Summary
The UM-Flint School of Management (SOM) is seeking a Program Assistant for Faculty Led Study Abroad to provide Japanese/English and English/Japanese translation assistance and to assist with travel and other logistics while in Japan. This is a part-time, temporary position, for approximately 100 hours over the program duration of May 22 - June 7, 2026. No work is required outside of the program travel dates.
Responsibilities*
- Japanese / English Translation
- Assist the program leaders with translation of presentations by Japanese business people, artisans, etc.
- Other translation assistance as needed.
- English / Japanese Translation
- Assist the program leaders with translation of questions / comments from UM-Flint students to Japanese business people, artisans, etc.
- Other translation assistance as needed.
- Logistics Assistance
- Assist the program leaders with managing movement of the class group through train stations, onto and off of public transportation, etc.
- General Student Supervision
- Act as a 2nd Backup for student supervision in case both program leaders are debilitated in some way.
