Pediatric Rehabilitation Center is currently seeking a Rehabilitation Technician to join our outpatient team. We serve a diverse clinical population in pediatric orthopedic, neurologic, and general rehabilitation. The Rehabilitation Technician is responsible for assisting our Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists in patient care, including exercises/interventions, supporting during two-person techniques, chaperoning sensitive appointments, and assisting with aquatic therapy.  Rehabilitation Technicians also assist with various clerical tasks, equipment monitoring, clinical cleanliness, volunteer supervision, joint commission readiness, and inventory.

Required Qualifications*

High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Desired Qualifications*

  • Some experience working with patients in physical or occupational therapy
  • Ability to understand and communicate information in both verbal and written format.
  • Competency in basic computer skills
  •  Ability to work independently and take initiative to complete regular tasks.
  •  Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of therapists and patients with different impairments.
  • Mechanical aptitude for adjusting and setting up equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task, anticipate needs, and attend to detail is very important
  •  Individual's seeking a career in rehabilitation are preferred

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Work Schedule

Part-time (30 hours/week). Schedule will support our afternoon/evening hours until clinic closing on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Clinic is open Monday-Thursday, 7am-7pm and Friday 7am-5pm.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
