Responsibilities*

Cover voice studio for fall term: Teach voice lessons (16.5 hours/wk), freshman through doctoral levels in Voice Performance, as well as undergraduates in Choral Music Education.  Lead weekly studio class (1.5 hours/wk).   

Duration of appointment: Fall 2026 only

Effort %: 45% 

Start date of appt:  8/31/26 

Expected date of offer:  4/27/26 

Required Qualifications*

  • Tenor; Extensive performance experience at the highest professional level, in opera, oratorio, concert and recital repertoire  

  • Proven effectiveness and documented track record as an applied voice teacher at institutions of higher education  

  • An outstanding artist and pedagogue with a thorough knowledge of opera, oratorio, musical theatre, and concert literature.    

  • Applicants whose professional activity has centered mainly on performance must demonstrate expertise and experience in teaching by having presented master classes, maintained a private studio, or served as guest faculty members at institutions of higher education.   

  • Demonstrate proficiency in German, Italian, Latin, French and English.  

  • Piano proficiency  

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar; OpenOffice; Zoom preferred.  

Modes of Work

This position will be required to be on campus for all lessons.  

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
