Responsibilities*
Candidate Sourcing, Screening & Talent Acquisition Partnership
- Implement comprehensive sourcing strategies across multiple channels to identify qualified candidates
- Conduct initial candidate assessments, phone screens, and interviews to evaluate fit and qualifications
- Build and maintain talent pipelines through proactive engagement and relationship building
- Partner with Talent Acquisition Consultants to present qualified candidates with detailed screening assessments
- Collaborate on recruitment strategies and sourcing approaches to improve candidate quality and pipeline development
Support workforce planning initiatives through strategic sourcing partnerships
Pre-Employment Processing & Background Coordination
- Manage pre-employment requirements including background checks, drug screens, and employment verifications
- Coordinate credentialing processes and ensure compliance with regulatory and institutional requirements
- Prepare and send contingent offer letters and welcome offer letters to candidates
- Serve as primary point of contact for candidates during pre-employment phase, providing timely updates and guidance
- Communicate pre-employment status updates and background check progress to Talent Acquisition Consultants and hiring teams
- Track and resolve any issues or delays in background clearance processes
Onboarding Coordination & New Hire Support
- Facilitate smooth transition from candidate acceptance through their first day of employment
- Coordinate new hire paperwork and pre-start logistics to ensure readiness for day one
- Provide exceptional candidate experience through responsive communication and proactive problem-solving throughout the pre-employment period
- Serve as the primary support contact for new hires until their official start date
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of one year of experience in recruitment, human resources, or onboarding coordination
Desired Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of one year of Human Resources related experience.
- Experience with passive candidate sourcing and marketing via online platforms, including a knowledge of Boolean language and developing search strings.
- Knowledge and experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, Behavioral Assessments, and Digital Interviewing.

Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Work Schedule
This is a hybrid position, requiring two (2) onsite days per month and occasional in-person attendance at recruiting events.

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
