Job Summary
The West Ann Arbor Health Center Parkland Plaza is one of Michigan Medicine's newest ambulatory care facilities dedicated to providing high quality health care services for adults and children. The 2-story facility is located 380 Parkland Plaza in Ann Arbor. We are actively seeking compassionate, enthusiastic, and patient-oriented individuals who will share in the goal of creating the ideal experience for our patients, families and employees.Responsibilities*
- Provide nursing care in multiple adult medicine clinics and adult surgical clinics working at West Ann Arbor Health Center, including but not limited to Urology, Uro/Oncology, Uro/Gyn, Otolaryngology, Allergy clinic and Allergy shot room, and Pulmonary.
- Provide nursing care in collaboration with physicians, other disciplines, and department colleagues for patients in clinic and via telephone to support efficient and effective management of patients.
- Participate in the coordination of care, including testing, medication management, collaborative planning of care, support of self-management by patients/families, management of emergency situations, etc.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care. Work with the physicians to develop and carry out clinical standards of care for various patient diagnoses.
- Perform phone triage, including assessment, screening, clinical advice, nurse visits (in person/ video visit) in-clinic hands on procedures, and other duties assigned.
- Provide telephone triage, patient teaching, direct patient care, documentation with follow-up and coordination with ancillary services and related departments.
- Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel; collaborate with colleagues, other disciplines, and health care/community services to promote continuity of care.
- Accurate and efficient documentation of nursing care.
- Assist with patient flow as necessary and appropriate.

- Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions.
- Willingness to adapt to different populations.
Required Qualifications*
- Current Licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
- Two (2) years (within the past 5 years) RN experience with adult surgical and medicine patients
- Recent ambulatory care RN experience within the last year
- At least six (6) months (within the past year) of RN experience working in an allergy shot room

Desired Qualifications*
- Recent (within the past 5 years) emergency room or ambulatory care experience.
- BSN
- Experience coordinating care for patients with complex medical conditions
- Experience with lab monitoring for patients on immunosuppressive medications.
- Leadership as demonstrated by professional activities, charge nurse, project work, etc
- RN experience with phone triage in an ambulatory care setting
- Experience as a float nurse
- Certification in Ambulatory nursing.

Nursing Specific Info
Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Work Schedule
- Hours: 20 hours per week, 8 hours shifts 8a-5pm
- Shift/Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, potential to work weekend days with expansion of site.
- Location: West Ann Arbor Health Center Specialty Care clinics
Note: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
