Job Summary
MedSport, Michigan Medicine Sports Medicine Program in Ann Arbor Michigan is offering a Post-Professional Athletic Training Sports Medicine Clinical Fellowship at the Biggby Coffee Ann Arbor Ice Cube.
The Fellow will provide clinical and outreach program care as a licensed athletic trainer 40 hours per week. You will work closely with Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Primary Care Sports Medicine Physicians, Physician Assistants, Musculoskeletal Radiologists, Radiology Technicians, Cast Technicians, Rehabilitation Technicians and Medical Assistants.
The Fellow will deliver direct patient care within a team approach in an outpatient sports medicine therapy rehabilitation setting. Patients cared for include pediatric; adolescent, adult and geriatric populations referred from both within the hospital as well as from external sources.
The Fellow will be placed with a clinical and a clinical/outreach program athletic trainer to support outpatient clinical care and at least one of our service agreement partnerships. Fellows must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. The fellow must be able to stand, walk, jog, squat, pivot, kneel for extended periods and is able to independently lift 75# from the floor to waist height.
The Fellow will be supervised by the MedSport Fellowship Athletic Training Coordinator, PT Manager, and PT Site Supervisor.
The Fellow will have the opportunity and be expected to attend in-service programs and participate in inter-departmental educational programs including Grand Rounds, and other MedSport and Orthopaedic educational opportunities. Research opportunities are also available.
Required Qualifications*
Athletic Training Fellow:
- Athletic Trainer License in State of Michigan.
- Candidate must have current CPR and first aid certification.
Desired Qualifications*
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the proper use of relevant medical terminology, are essential. Organizational skills, resourcefulness, and self-discipline are crucial to successful completion of patient care responsibilities and clinical training requirements.
- Incumbent will comply with all departmental, hospital, regulatory and governmental standards and policy as a condition of employment with Michigan Medicine.

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third-party administrator to conduct background screenings.
