Job Summary
A desire and willingness to work with international students and promote programs and events that encourage student engagement and provide students with a sense of belonging.
Responsibilities*
- Answer incoming phone calls
- Greet and assist customers coming into the Center for Global Engagement office
- Operating office machines
- Contributing to social media and other communication campaigns
- Supporting various events and activities such as: International Student Orientation, Education Abroad Events, International Education Week, MGagement Involvement Fair, and other department and campus events
- Remain up to date with all communications across the office ranging from CGE program calendars, student activity events, transportation needs of the department
- Support all program recruitment efforts, community service, and university events
- Coordinate field trips, college tours, shopping excursions, and community service events for students
- Assist with student engagement initiatives
- Available nights and weekends
Required Qualifications*
- Applicants must be enrolled as a student at UM-Flint for the full academic year
- Able to work independently as well as in teams
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and the ability to develop other
- Computer skills as needed
- Customer service Experience
- Interpersonal and intercultural communication skills
- Able to work a flexible schedule that will meet the needs of the department for events or necessary student transportation needs
- Ability to interpret and verify students? documentation upon arrival
- Possess a familiarity with UM-Flint campus, housing facilities and surrounding counties
Modes of Work
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan

Background Screening
