Job Summary
Must be eligible for Work Study Summer 2026. This is a position with an off campus agency. We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible college students to provide tutoring services to
K-12 and college students. The ideal candidate will assist students in improving their academic performance, building confidence, and developing effective study habits in one or more of the
listed subjects but not limited to math, reading, writing, and science. This is a part-time position with varying hours depending on student needs and organizational requirements. The schedule
may include evenings, weekends, or school breaks.

Responsibilities*
- Attend required training sessions and meetings.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
- Assist students with homework, assignments, and exam preparation.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents (for K-12 students), and literacy program leadership.
- Explain concepts and provide alternative approaches to learning in a clear and understandable way.
- Provide academic support and tutoring to K-12 and college students in subjects such as math, reading, writing, and science, among others.
- Support Literacy events.
Required Qualifications*
- Ability to explain subject concepts in a simple and understandable manner.
- Demonstrate subject matter expertise in the subjects
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, reliability and punctuality.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others succeed

Modes of Work
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
