Job Summary
The Supervisor oversees weekly fieldwork experiences in area schools, meeting with course instructor and other supervisors prior to the beginning of the semester; fieldwork group at the beginning and close of the semester; and each fieldwork intern once a week.
Responsibilities*
Job duties: Coordinate with K-5 classroom music teacher to plan a sequential and diverse range of teaching activities for each intern; provide students with lesson ideas; meet with students to discuss plan before teaching; provide feedback on weekly teaching; liaise with classroom music teacher to facilitate successful lessons; report regularly to course instructor on progress of individual students.
Required Qualifications*
Required qualifications: Elementary general music teaching experience; experience serving as mentor teacher for fieldwork interns and student teachers; familiarity with teaching music in the Ann Arbor Public Schools; record of outstanding teaching in elementary general music.
