Responsibilities*

  • Develop, design, and conduct research projects that create new and improved existing Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) systems, especially for use with medical robots
  • Participate in formulating research methods, and suggest options for improving quality and recommending solutions for OCT data processing and analysis
  • Work independently on the collection of data and analysis of research results related to OCT and medical robot performance 
  • Assemble, test, calibrate, clean, or make minor repairs to OCT systems and the systems in which they are integrated
  • Prepare reports, write documentation, and draft manuscripts, especially related to OCT system operation, performance, and integration
  • Meet weekly with the lab PI in individual and group settings to review research progress

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience 
  • Prior experience with OCT system operation, OCT signal processing, and/or image-guided medical robots

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Additional Information

This is a 2-year term-limited position through 05/30/2028 with possible renewal based on funding extension.
