Responsibilities*
Civil and Environmental Engineering seeks one applicant to teach CEE 428, in Fall term 2026 (Aug 25, 2026 - Dec 31, 2026). UM Classes begin on August 31, 2026. This course is scheduled to meet in-person for lecture on Mon/Wed, 12:00-1:30pm, Rm TBD; and lab session on Mon, 3:30-5:30pm, Rm TBD. The position will be 0.30 FTE (30% effort) and requires the lecturer to be responsible for teaching students the subject titled Groundwater Hydrology.
Required Qualifications*
A master's degree, or equivalent education and experience, in Environmental Engineering is required. PhD in Environmental Engineering is preferred. Teaching experience in groundwater hydrology and evidence of teaching excellence is highly desirable. Candidates will be evaluated based on submitted CV, teaching evaluations, and relevant recommendations. Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching experience and knowledge of the university policies and procedures.
Course Description
Basic principles which govern the flow of water in the subsurface. Development and solution of groundwater flow and contaminant transport equations, in presence and absence of pumping wells, for both confined and phreatic aquifers. Measurement and estimation of parameters governing flow and transport. Use of computer software for the simulation of flow.
