Job Summary

  • Currently employed at VAAAHS as a licensed Psychiatrist in a Staff Psychiatrist role.
     
  • All detailed requirements required to be a Staff Psychiatrist at the VAAAHS have been met and the Staff Psychiatrist is in good standing with the VAAAHS.

Required Qualifications*

  • Applicants must hold an M.D. or equivalent degree

  • Be board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry and Neurology

  • Must hold or be eligible for a Michigan medical license.

  • Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected. 

  • Superior clinical competencies and master teacher skills are necessary and be an active member in good standing of the University of Michigan Medical Staff.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third-party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.

In addition to the screenings indicated above under Michigan law, a criminal history check including fingerprinting is required as a condition of transfer or employment for this position.
