Responsibilities*
Successful candidate will be appointed on the tenure-track and receive a faculty appointment at the University of Michigan Medical School. They will be expected to develop and maintain their own research agenda, contribute to inter-disciplinary research resulting in publications and extramural support, as well as present results at appropriate scientific meetings. Duties also include teaching and mentorship to a variety of learners, including technicians, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, and other learners.
- Demonstrated research expertise in any area of pain, opioid or adolescent mental health that will enhance existing research strengths or establish new ones
- A consistent and ongoing record of securing research funding
- Experience and skill in providing leadership that will advance the scholarly and curricular excellence of the Department of Anesthesiology
- Strong track record of publishing high quality, peer reviewed research
- Mentoring and teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students in their area of expertise
- Proven success with contributing to a positive workplace culture, and ability to consistently demonstrate our school's core values is necessary.
- Ability to contribute to the department's tripartite mission to provide high quality clinical care with a strong focus on education, teaching, and research.
Required Qualifications*
Successful candidate must have an MD or PhD (or equivalent), strong academic credentials and a research portfolio that demonstrates their potential for achieving national leadership in their area of expertise. Candidate with experience and/or expertise focusing on pain, opioid and suicide interventions, and mixed methods research and/or implementation science will be highly preferred. Other qualifications that will be considered in the selection of the candidates will include a record of success in multidisciplinary research environments and extramural research support. Evidence of competence in didactic teaching and mentorship is expected.

Background Screening
