Job Summary
The NICHE Robotics Lab at the University of Michigan-Dearborn is seeking a CECS undergraduate student interested in robotics automation and robot system development. Students are paid bi-weekly at an hourly rate determined by the faculty project sponsor. The anticipated start date will begin in the fall semester.
Responsibilities*
The student will assist with building, testing, and improving robotic systems used for manufacturing, automation, and manipulation research. Responsibilities include hardware integration, basic programming, CAD modifications, and experimental testing.
This position is ideal for students interested in pursuing graduate studies or careers in robotics and automation.
Required Qualifications*
- Current UM-Dearborn undergraduate student in ECE, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related field
- Basic programming experience (Python preferred)
- Interest in robotics and automation
- Willingness to learn mechanical design and prototyping
Desired Qualifications*
- Experience with Arduino, ROS/ROS2, or robotics platforms
- Hands-on fabrication interest
