CLINICAL CARE COORDINATOR: Ambulatory Care Services (Rogel Cancer Center: UH Radiation Oncology Brachytherapy Clinic)

Responsibilities*

• Provide culturally sensitive, age-specific team-based care models in delivering nursing care for the Radiation Oncology patient population. 
• Multitask to deliver excellent patient care while facilitating efficient through put across the clinic as it relates to procedural care for brancytherapy (GYN, Prostate, ect.), high dose radiation specifically
• Work with several procedural teams comprised of faculty, nurse practitioner, clinical physicist, medical assistant and other constituents in collaborative departments (OBGYN, Urology, etc.)
• Collaborate daily with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and radiation therapists.
• Direct interaction with caring of patients pre, post and during procedures.
• Documentation and patient education regarding treatments, procedures, side effects, etc.  Patient education plays an intricate role in the overall success of the procedure, aids the patients? recovery and is essential to this role, as well as the patient experience.
• Access ports for procedures, initiate IVs and assessments for contrast administration.
• Assessment and management of side effects of radiation.
• Coordination of care for patients including telephone triage and care during transfers.
• Development of educational initiatives, teambuilding, and ensuring patient care is executed at the highest standards using evidence-based practice.  

• Colloborate with pre-op, OR, PACU, Anesthesia teams to coordinate care of patient.

• Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation.
• Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions.
• Willingness to adapt to different populations within the Radiation Oncology team as patient demands require. Orientation and training would be provided for new subspecialties.  
• Accurate and efficient documentation of nursing care. 
• Knowledge and appropriate use of internal and external resources. 
• This RN position is essential in managing clinic flow, patient care needs to include, but not limited to triage/assessment of high acuity patients, therapy education, procedural education, medication administration and management, responding to clinic emergencies, port maintenance, collaboration with multiple disciplines / infusion / scheduling / lab management. 

Required Qualifications*

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan Medicine
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of (2) years of Oncology experience within the last (5) three years

• Minimum of 12 months of Gyn Oncology experience or Gynecology experience
• Minimum of 12 months of Procedure or ICU experience
• Ambulatory Care Experience with telephone triage/symptom management within the last five (5) years
• OCN certification

Evening Shift Differential- $3.00 / hour

Night Shift Weekend Differential- $6.90 / hour

Actual RSAM LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
RSAM levels range from ENC-COMPETENT-NE to ENC-EXPERT-NE TO ENC-MASTERY-NE.

Work Schedule

Hours/Week: 40 hours

?    Day Shift; Monday-Friday, may include Saturdays/Sundays/Holidays in the future if clinic hours expand
?    Hours may be variable (based on patient and volume needs)

Location: 
?    Rogel Cancer Center ? Ann Arbor with potential to work in other locations with expansion of division. 
?    Hybrid work may occur (beyond the orientation period) based on clinic need and onsite commitment.
