Job Summary
Provide pre-award support for three divisions in the department of Internal Medicine. Gastroenterology/Hepatology - 40%; Hospital Medicine - 40%; Rheumatology - 20%
Position would report up thru Gastroenterology under the supervision of Stacey Althouse.
Responsibilities*
- Proactively identify external funding opportunities and advise faculty on proposal planning and competitiveness.
- Assist faculty with completion of sponsor and institutional proposal documents for initial submission, including collection of required materials from PIs, Co-ls, and subcontract/subrecipient sites.
- Prepare and review budgets and budget justifications of varying complexity for academic and research projects and programs.
- Coordinate timely routing of proposals through the institutional approval process in a deadline-driven environment.
- Serve as authorized signer for electronic proposals as applicable; submit proposals and troubleshoot submission issues.
- Ensure institutional review/sign-off is completed and confirm all proposal changes are accurately incorporated prior to submission.
- Support creation and updating of biosketches and other required support documents (pre- and post-submission).
- Assist with the submission of post-submission documents such as NIH Just-In-Time documents.
Required Qualifications*
- BA degree
- 5 + years of progressive grant and contract experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Desired Qualifications*
- Advanced degree
- 5 - 7 years of progressive grant and contract experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with eResearch, Business Objects, M-Reports and M-Pathways.
- Preferred candidates will have exposure to a wide variety of sponsors including National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Defense, Foundations, industry contracts and clinical trials.
- Will have specific experience with NIH policies including but not limited to salary restrictions, effort reductions, F&A recovery.

Modes of Work

Background Screening
