Job Summary
The Business Development Associate is responsible for supporting and providing administrative support to the business development team in Latin America. The Business Development Associate will assist the team in achieving ambitious growth, sales, revenue, and recognition targets, without holding direct responsibility for revenue generation or commercial decision-making. This position will undertake research into key sectors and partners, verify contact information, and schedule and facilitate meetings to promote the organization's products and services. They will maintain accurate records in our CRM system, providing dashboards and reports to show progress against goals. They will assist with the successful running of events and meetings online and in person and support our participation in domestic and international conferences in Latin America. They will also run campaigns to raise awareness of our organization and products and achieve both sales and recognition targets. The Business Development Associate is required to be bilingual (English and Spanish) and must be able to successfully communicate verbally and in writing in both languages.
Responsibilities*
- Research and maintain key contacts at target institutions to support revenue and recognition initiatives, maintain records and reporting in a CRM system, and support the running of campaigns to achieve targets, including execution of initial outreach efforts.
- Support the departmental sales and revenue objectives through conducting calls to schedule commercial meetings, facilitate external communications, confirm key customer information, and represent the organization and its products, without negotiating or concluding commercial terms. Plan and conduct campaigns to increase awareness and adoption of the organization's products and services.
- Coordinate meetings, manage communications, and serve as a liaison between the organization and points of contact at universities, agencies, and other key organizations and stakeholders. Coordination will include by email, phone, and other communication methods both in English and Spanish.
- Support logistics for domestic and international conferences and events, together with online meetings and webinars. Develop and manage lists and campaigns to promote and manage the events, liaise with marketing team on marketing assets, prepare and send invitations and follow-up messages, call delegates to confirm participation, and prepare reports after each event.
- Support internal stakeholders with test center management, regional recognition campaigns, marketing collateral (webinars, newsletter content, etc.) and collate feedback from external stakeholders to inform internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports for sales and commercial activity, and other business metrics ensuring they are completed via CRM and other channels. Identify and report out on market trends and customer needs and providing other general administrative or project support as needed.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in administration, sales, commerce, or equivalent degree
- Minimum B2 level of English
- Excellent organizational skills, and strong attention to detail
- Fluent in spoken and written English high B2 level with a certificate.
- Competent in standard IT software packages including, Microsoft Office and CRM (Salesforce preferred) as well as video conference platforms.
- Ability to work well both independently and as a member of a team
- Prior work experience of minimum of 1 year in a business development, marketing, sales, commerce, or administration role
- Ability to build strong relationships
- Excellent time-management skills, with an ability to multitask, manage competing demands, and meet deadlines
- Experience coordinating, managing, and supporting in-person and virtual conferences and events
- Experience in Internet research
- Experience in sales support
- Good oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to cold call

Michigan Language Assessment is seeking candidates located in or within commuting distance to Bogota, Colombia. Michigan Language Assessment supports a fully remote work from home schedule with occasionally scheduled in person activities.
