Responsibilities*
The University of Michigan, School of Nursing (UMSN), Department of Systems, Leadership, and Populations seeks a Research Associate who will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) on a variety of projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Day-to-Day Project Operations and project management: Provide administrative and operational support to facilitate the daily functioning of research projects, including scheduling meetings, maintaining project files, tracking project activities and deadlines, coordinating communications, and supporting project logistics.
- Team Coordination: Communicate with research team members, participants, collaborators, and other stakeholders as appropriate to support project activities and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Research Particpant Support: Assist with particpant recruitment (in person and online), screening, scheduling, enrollment, communication, and retention; maintain accurate particpant records and research documentation in accordance with approved study protocols.
- Research Activities: Support IRB submissions, data collection, data entry, literature searches, preparation of research materials, and other study-related activities as assigned.
- Project Reporting: Assist with the preparation, organization, and submission of project reports, progress updates, presentations, and other research deliverables.
- Website and Digital Content: Maintain and update project websites and related digital resources, including posting approved content, updating project information, and ensuring information remains accurate and current.
- Compliance and Quality: Follow study protocols, institutional policies, and applicable research requirements; maintain confidentiality and ensure accurate and secure handling of research information.
- Other Research Support: Perform other reseach-related duties and special projects as assigned by the Principal Investigator or project leadership.

Required Qualifications*
Applicants must be available for weekly meetings and should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint), CANVA and willingness to learn data analysis software such as SPPSS, R, and Dedoose. Applicants should exhibit attention to detail, an interest in research and the topic, an ability to work independently and adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines.
Supervision is received from the PI.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- A minimum master's degree
- Previous research experience
- Software knowledge: SPSS or R
- Candidate must have excellent communicaation skills, with the ability to receive and convey information clearly and concisely for various mediums
- Excellent computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

- An understanding of scientific research, medical, and research terminology.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision with diverse teams of people in a diplomatic, collaborative and effective manner.
- Demonstrated computer skills, including expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Qualtrics, RedCap, and qualitative software (e.g. Dedoose) preferred.
- Demonstrated time management skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills with analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under time constraints and meet deadlines. Ability to serve diverse populations.
Modes of Work
