Job Summary
The Brody laboratory in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Michigan is looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow with a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, mouse genetics, and/or cardiac physiology. Research focus areas in the Brody lab include functions of post-translational lipid modifications in the compartmentalization, sensing, and transduction of pathogenic signals and regulation of cytokine receptor signaling and natriuretic peptide secretion. The Brody lab has a broader interest in elucidating strategies to inhibit intracellular signaling pathways that promote cardiac hypertrophy and failure or that promote adaptive signaling circuitry to aide in cardiac resiliency to chronic insult with the goal of hindering adverse cardiac remodeling that ultimately results in heart failure. Successful candidates will utilize a combination of mouse genetics, biochemistry, and molecular and chemical biology techniques to gain insight into pathophysiological signaling mechanisms that contribute to human cardiovascular disease. Skilled and motivated scientists with an interest in molecular and cellular cardiology are strongly encouraged to apply.
