Job Summary
Individual will support the MiWeigh Study, a pragmatic randomized controlled trial testing the effectiveness of the Weight Navigation Program by conducting chart reviews, recruiting and consenting research participants, and conducting other research tasks as needed. (0.50FTE)
Individual will work under the guidance of a General Medicine professor to optimize a self-guided program available to Michigan Medicine patients on low carbohydrate eating. Will require collaboration with multiple stakeholders and service providers at U-M and development and management of the process. (0.25FTE)
Term-limited to one year, 0.75FTE with possibility to increase to 1.0FTE if additional funds are secured.
Responsibilities*
- Conduct chart reviews to identify potentially eligible patients
- Recruit research participants by phone and email
- Conduct screening to determine eligibility
- Conduct informed consent
- Create orders and monitor In Basket messages in the EHR
- Develop and manage optimization of the Low Car Journey program
- Cultivate positive, productive working relationships with collaborators, service providers, and other Low Carb Journey key stakeholders
- Support new initiatives and pilot studies by obtaining regulatory approval (e.g., IRB submission) and conducting project management activities (e.g., recruitment, data collection, etc.)
- Develop relationships with clinicians, researchers, and operational partners to advance obesity care delivery
- Other tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelors degree in a health-related field, ideally healthcare administration
- At least 5 years' experience in clinical research including recruitment and other interaction with research participants
- Experience conducting chart reviews in electronic health records
- Experience working with patients in a clinical setting
- Experience identifying key stakeholders and cultivating relationships with them
- Detail-oriented
- Flexible
- Self-motivated problem solver
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to monitor processes, trouble-shoot, and escalate as appropriate

Modes of Work

Background Screening
