Mission Statement
Michigan Medicine improves the health of patients, populations and communities through excellence in education, patient care, community service, research and technology development, and through leadership activities in Michigan, nationally and internationally. Our mission is guided by our Strategic Principles and has three critical components; patient care, education and research that together enhance our contribution to society.
Responsibilities*
We are seeking a creative and highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join a well-funded, collaborative research program investigating intestinal epithelial barrier function and mucosal wound repair. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead recently NIH funded projects exploring how epithelial proteins and signaling pathways coordinate adhesion, migration, barrier restoration, and repair during inflammation. Our studies integrate molecular and cell biology, mucosal immunology, advanced imaging, organoid and mouse models, human tissues, and multi-omics approaches.
Required Qualifications*
Applicants should have a recent Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., a strong scientific record, and excellent communication skills. Expertise in epithelial biology, mucosal immunology, organoids, mouse models, bioinformatics, or computational biology is particularly valued. Fellows will join a productive, multidisciplinary environment with a strong commitment to mentorship, scientific independence, and career development, including opportunities to develop independent research directions, publish high-impact work, and compete for individual fellowships, career development awards, and independent NIH R series funding.
