Mission Statement

Michigan Medicine improves the health of patients, populations and communities through excellence in education, patient care, community service, research and technology development, and through leadership activities in Michigan, nationally and internationally. Our mission is guided by our Strategic Principles and has three critical components; patient care, education and research that together enhance our contribution to society.

Responsibilities*

We are seeking a creative and highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join a well-funded, collaborative research program investigating intestinal epithelial barrier function and mucosal wound repair. The successful candidate will have opportunities to lead newly NIH-funded research projects exploring how epithelial proteins and signaling pathways coordinate cell migration, barrier function and tissue repair during intestinal mucosal inflammation. Our research integrates cutting-edge molecular and cell biology, mucosal immunology, advanced imaging, intestinal organoids, genetically modified mouse models, human tissues and multi-omics approaches.

Required Qualifications*

Applicants should have a recent Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree, a strong scientific record, and excellent communication skills. Expertise in epithelial biology, mucosal immunology, organoids, mouse models, bioinformatics, or computational biology is particularly valued.
