Job Summary
The Anesthesiology department has an exciting opportunity for an Anesthesia Technician to assist the anesthesia provider with administration and monitoring of anesthesia in a variety of settings. The technician provides support for anesthesia providers by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment, transport ICU patients, perform labs at point of care, and resupply of critical items before, during, and after anesthesia care.

Responsibilities*
Preoperative:
- Verify anesthesia supplies and equipment are in the assigned rooms. Checks and replaces anesthesia gas tanks as needed.
- Setup specialty equipment when requested.
- Prepares transducers for peripheral and central hemodynamic monitoring when requested.
- Prepares IVs when requested.
Intraoperative:
- Provide additional supplies and equipment as needed.
- Perform point of care lab tests.
- Operate Cell Saver when necessary.
- Assist anesthesia providers during codes.
Postoperative:
- Clean and disinfect anesthesia equipment.
- Resupply anesthesia machine and cart as needed.
- Setup and run leak test on the anesthesia machine for the following case.
- Resupply medications as needed.
In addition to perioperative responsibilities, Anesthesia Technicians maintain a clean workroom, run quality control tests on point of care lab equipment, and additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications*
- Graduation from high school
- Effective communications skills
- Adept at conflict resolution
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Basic life support (BLS) Care Provider card or obtain within 6 months of hire
This position requires moderate standing/walking, as well as lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring of patients
Desired Qualifications*
1 year or more experience as an Anesthesia Technician or comparable position in healthcare.
Work Schedule
Primarily Days 6am-2pm/ Afternoon Rotation (1 week) 2-10pm
