Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Visualization and Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating compelling and insightful data visualizations using Tableau, as well as leveraging advanced SQL capabilities to prepare, analyze, and uncover actionable business insights from complex data.

Responsibilities*
- Design and build interactive, visually-engaging dashboards and reports using Tableau
- Create and maintain enterprise-level Tableau dashboards and workbooks
- Develop custom calculations, parameters, and advanced visualizations in Tableau
- Implement Tableau best practices for optimal dashboard performance and user experience
- Write complex SQL queries to support data visualization needs
- Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting needs and deliver impactful data products
- Provide training and support to end-users on Tableau and data analysis best practices
- Translate data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for business stakeholders
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Business Analytics
- 5+ years of experience
- 3+ years of experience with Tableau, including
- Creating and maintaining interactive dashboards
- Developing calculated fields and parameters
- Understanding of LOD expressions and table calculations
- Experience with Tableau Server/Online administration
- Exceptional SQL skills, including the ability to write complex, optimized queries
- Strong understanding of data modeling and dimensional design principles
- Experience in dashboard design and data visualization best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Effective communication and presentation skills
Desired Qualifications*
- Tableau Desktop Certified Professional certification
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and architectures
- Familiarity with Python or R for advanced data manipulation and analysis
- Experience translating data insights into actionable business recommendations
- Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics
- Experience with version control and documentation practices
Modes of Work

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
