Job Summary
The Department of Radiology is recruiting a fellowship-trained cardiothoracic radiology with a strong commitment to professionalism to join our team of cardiothoracic radiology faculty at either a Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor level. Our growing and diverse practice has the breadth, depth and scale for faculty at any career stage and with general or specialized interests anywhere along the spectrum from clinician-educator to clinician-scientist. We emphasize mentorship, career and leadership development.
The division performs and interprets the full gamut of cardiothoracic radiology examinations, including thoracic and cardiovascular CT and MRI, and CT-guided thoracic biopsies/drainage procedures. The division uses state of the art digital portable & standard chest radiographic equipment with tomosynthesis capability, MRI, and CT scanners with low dose technology.
Responsibilities*
Responsibilities include teaching a spectrum of learners (medical students, residents, fellows and ourselves too), and clinical, translational and/or basic research. We have many ongoing research programs within the Department, including close collaboration with our own Basic Sciences Division, and with colleagues across Michigan Medicine and the University of Michigan campus. The University of Michigan Medical School has the largest group of health services researchers in the United States at our Institute for Healthcare Policy & Innovation, and an excellent Faculty Development Program.
Required Qualifications*
M.D. or equivalent, ABR-certified or has passed the core examination and on track to take the certifying examination within 15 months of completing residency, fellowship training in cardiothoracic radiology, and the ability to obtain a medical license in the State of Michigan. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in teaching is expected.
