Job Summary

This position will primarily involve analysis of healthcare data derived from electronic medical record and/or insurance claims data, as well as data management/processing and communicating with data sources (e.g. institutional data office) and institutional regulatory agencies (institutional review board). Candidate will work approximately 50% each with two clinical/translational investigators who are both members of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and are interested in better understanding disease trajectory with an eventual aim toward improving the care of patients with gastroenterological and liver diseases.

Responsibilities*

  • Analysis of health-related data (derived from electronic medical records and/or insurance claims databases)
  • Data management, cleaning, and processing
  • Communication with institutional collaborators and regulatory agencies (i.e. IRB)
  • Communication of research findings with other research investigators

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g., statistics, biostatistics, data science, computer science)
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in data analysis
  • Statistical programming expertise (e.g. R, Python)

Desired Qualifications*

  • Masters degree in a related field
  • Experience analyzing health-related data

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
