Job Summary

In 2023, the President's Office established the Ethics, Integrity, and Compliance Office (EICO). This newly formed office is seeking an experienced senior administrative assistant to support the work of the ethics, integrity, and compliance officer's executive assistant. The EICO helps units coordinate ethics, integrity, and compliance activities and offers guidance on compliance questions across the Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint campuses and Michigan Medicine. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to provide high-level administrative support, a professional and friendly demeanor, and anticipate the needs of the EICO team.

You will report to the ethics, integrity, and compliance officer's executive assistant. You will be responsible for various administrative functions, handling matters of a confidential and sensitive nature. As a team member of the EICO, you will be expected to uphold the highest ethical standards and commitment to integrity in alignment with the University of Michigan's values and policies.

The position's demands are variable in nature, type, and volume. The job responsibilities are shaped by the needs of the EICO activities, which may vary over time. The position will be primarily on-site in Ann Arbor, and there is the opportunity for a hybrid schedule in accordance with operational needs.  

The salary range for the Senior level position is $55,000-$60,000. A higher salary may be possible for well-qualified applicants.

Responsibilities*

  • Greet guests and visitors, maintaining a welcoming and inviting environment.
  • Answer phones, direct calls, and take messages.
  • Assist with EICO website email.
  • Maintain, purchase, and organize supplies and office equipment.
  • Provide general office support for the EIC Executive Assistant and EIC team.
  • Draft and prepare correspondence, reports, and documents; proofread and edit materials for the EICO team; exercise discretion with confidential/sensitive information and data.
  • Assist with scheduling, planning, and executing departmental or university-wide events, conferences, and workshops.
  • Assist with travel arrangements, expense reports and record-keeping.
  • Create presentations and assist with research activities.
  • Assist with onboarding of future EICO team members.
  • Assist project management initiatives by tracking deadlines, coordinating resources, completing research, and facilitating communication.

Required Qualifications*

  • Associate degree OR equivalent work experience.
  • Flexible and adaptable to various work settings, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a wide range of people internally and externally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Google Suite, Zoom, and Microsoft Office. 
  • At least four years of experience in an office setting.
     

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience working in a higher education environment.
  • Familiarity with University of Michigan policies and procedures.
     

Modes of Work

The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.

Underfill Statement

This position may be filled at the intermediate level, with a salary range of $45,000 to $54,000, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
