Job Summary

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Michigan invites applications for a two-year Post-doctoral Research Fellow position, starting no later than August 25, 2025. We seek exemplary applicants who hold a Ph.D. in Linguistics or a related field who apply computational and/or experimental methods to research in linguistics. 

We will strongly consider outstanding applicants in any subfield of linguistics who can contribute to the strengths of the department  - applicants with primary or secondary specialization in computational linguistics are especially encouraged to apply.  A PhD degree must be awarded before the start of the appointment.

Responsibilities*

The position, partially endowed by the Journal Language Learning, involves teaching two courses per year and continuing an innovative research program. Strong consideration will be given to applicants who can develop and teach introductory and upper level courses to help students learn and apply programming and other computational and/or experimental methods and tools to language and linguistics.
