Job Summary

The D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is a 12-story hospital that will house 264 private rooms capable of converting to intensive care; a state-of-the-art neurosciences center; and high-level, specialty care services for cardiovascular and thoracic patients, along with advanced imaging. The 690,000-square-foot hospital which also features 20 surgical and three interventional radiology suites is being constructed adjacent to the Frankel Cardiovascular Center, with plans for bridge and tunnel connections to existing inpatient care facilities. The anticipated opening of the new D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is fall 2025.

Provide prompt and courteous assistance to the Radiologists and all internal and external customers. 

Responsibilities*

  • Provides prompt and courteous assistance to the Radiologists and all internal and external customers, following the Radiology Gold Service stands. 
  • Work closely with Technologists, Clerical Staff, and Radiologists to coordinate and facilitate timely availability of images for interpretation and communication of results to referring physicians and departments across the health system.
  • Identify and make recommendations for improvements in processes and procedures. 
  • Responsible for follow through and closure of patient care related requests. Communicate with technical support teams to report issues and correct reporting and study errors. 
  • Upload outside exams in to Radiology systems.
  • Process requests to send Radiology records to patients and outside hospitals. 
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties such as work processing, answering phone calls, emails, and preparing paperwork as necessary.

Required Qualifications*

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience
  • Excellent attendance
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Knowledge of health system policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Sectra, EPIC, and Life Image

Work Schedule

  • Monday-Friday 4pm-12am 
  • Every other weekend 6pm-2am Saturday & Sunday
  • 32 hours per pay period

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
