Job Summary

The College of Arts, Sciences, and Education seeks an administrative specialist who will serve as the financial processing lead in assigned areas.

This position will report to the Associate Dean.

Responsibilities*

  • Travel Processing
    • Manage the travel budget and distribution of travel funding for assigned areas
  • Budget Management & Financial Processing
    • Reconciliations for each supported area, procurement, reimbursements/payments, develop and maintain internal budgets including internal grants.
    • Collaborate with other units regarding financial matters
  • Strategic Resource Use & Planning
    • Maintain the equipment inventories and manage equipment budgets
    • Advise on short and long term planning
    • Collaborate with vendors to ensure purchase, billing and payment
  • Budget Oversight
    • Review and approve use of funds for strategic use
    • Manage and approve budgets within assigned areas (e.g., start up funds, project grants, equipment, award funding, fees)
    • Troubleshooting errors and pursuing corrections related to financial activity

Required Qualifications*

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 or more years of financial administrative support experience relevant to the job responsibilities, which include financial processing
  • Demonstrative Customer Service experience

Modes of Work

Hybrid:

The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, you may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and the job requirements.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes here.

Background Screening
