Salary range for RSAM (Role-Specific Advancement Model) RNs- $86,202.36 - $139,992.40

  • Evening Shift Differential- $3.00 per hour
  • Night Shift Differential- $4.00 per hour
  • Day Weekend Differential- additional $2.90 per hour
  • Evening Weekend Differential- additional $5.90 per hour

Responsibilities*

To provide comprehensive professional nursing support to members of the diagnostic team (ordering and reviewing providers).

Coordinate follow up care for patients with abnormal radiology findings, lab results, and other critical results as identified.

Provide expert nursing instruction and consultation to members of the health care team.

Identify gaps and needs of patient population and seek to implement interventions to improve patient outcomes.

Develop partnerships with other clinical partners to standardize patient care processes.

Provide education to patient and families.

Serve as clinical contact for referrals and consultations.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives improving gaps in care.

This UMPNC RN posting is posted under the Role-Specific Advancement Model (RSAM) as: 
Clinical Care Coordinator-COMPETENT NE
Actual RSAM LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
RSAM levels range from Clinical Care Coordinator-COMPETENT-NE to Clinical Care Coordinator-EXPERT-NE to Clinical Care Coordinator-MASTERY-NE to Clinical Care Coordinator- MASTERY PLUS NE.

Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.

Required Qualifications*

  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Michigan
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing 
  • Five years recent RN experience with the adult population in medical-surgical, radiology, ICU, ED, or Intermediate Care setting 
  • Participation in unit/clinic activities that demonstrate ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, and positively contribute to team approach to patient care
  • Demonstrated progressive clinical leadership experience, i.e. charge nurse, preceptor experience
  • Demonstrated expert communication, organization, and prioritization skills as evidenced by examples provided, evaluation, and references. 
  • Demonstrated ability to proficiently work in MiChart

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience with program development.
  • Experience as a clinical care coordinator
  • Experience in case management and/or care navigation
  • Ambulatory Care Experience
  • Demonstrated high standards of personal/professional conduct and attendance as evidence by interviews, references, and performance evaluations
  • Current certification in Ambulatory Care Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, or Critical Care Nursing

Work Schedule

  • 40 hours/week.
  • Shift/Hours/Days: Day Shift; Mon-Fri with flexibility in schedule to meet clinic needs.  Some evenings and Saturdays may be required (nontraditional including further weekends/holidays commitment). Hours may be variable based on patient and volume needs, with flexibility required.

Location On-site location in Taubman Pulmonary Clinic but may be required to work at other locations, subject to change based on needs. 

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
