Job Summary

NOTE: This position is term-limited for one (1) year.

The laboratory of Jun Wu, at the Life Sciences Institute, is looking for a Research Investigator to oversee a research project to study the role of cholinergic regulation of liver function and thermogenic beige fat function. Major goals include the characterization of liver and thermogenic fat function using a combination of cell and molecular biology and transgenic mouse engineering. These studies will require considerable expertise and research experiences in cell and molecular biology techniques, including primary cell culture (hepatocytes, inguinal stromal vascular fractionation), mouse glucose tolerance test, oral gavage, real-time quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR), gene expression and protein analyses and functional assays for characterizing liver and fat function. In addition to planning and performing experiments, you will oversee research performed by undergraduate students. You will report directly to Dr. Jun Wu and will work full-time onsite.
