The University of Michigan Law School is seeking an Assistant Director of Admissions who will report to the Senior Assistant Dean for Admissions.

Responsibilities*
- Provide individualized in-person and remote admissions counseling and answer telephone and email inquiries from prospective students
- Select, train, and coordinate Law School students, student organizations, and alumni recruiting volunteers
- Represent the Law School (both virtually and in-person) at forums, fairs, and other programs at undergraduate institutions and other locations across the United States, aimed at providing information about the admissions process as well as recruiting applicants
- Plan, organize, execute and represent the Law School at events and programs designed to recruit admitted applicants, both on and off campus, both in-person and remote
- Considerable writing responsibilities including assisting in design, editing, and drafting of marketing and external communication.

Required Qualifications*
- JD or MA degree or BA with five years of experience in admissions settings
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Familiarity with current issues in legal education
- Ability to work effectively on a team
- Capacity to manage, collect, analyze and prepare data for presentations to a variety of audiences
- Effective time management and balancing of multiple responsibilities
- Understanding of the goals and distinct qualities of the Law School
- Facility with data management and presentation tools (Excel, PowerPoint and the like, as well as web pages and social media, alongside a general familiarity with and enthusiasm for technology
- Willingness to travel, particularly in the Fall, when travel can be extensive
- Must demonstrate enthusiasm, creativity, energy, discipline, collegiality, judgment, discretion, passion for excellence and sense of humor are essential attributes
Desired Qualifications*
- JD Degree
- Experience working with the public and with student populations
- Experience in law related positions
- Exposure to law school admissions process through personal, volunteer, and/or professional experience
- Ability to relate to and work well with prospective and current students and various other constituencies, including faculty and alumni.
