Responsibilities*
Responsibilities
Provide culturally sensitive, age-specific team-based care models in delivering nursing care for the Upper Aerodigestive oncology patient population and the broader Blue Team.
Accurate and efficient documentation of nursing care.
Knowledge and appropriate use of internal and external resources.
This RN position is essential in managing clinic flow, patient care needs to include, but not limited to: triage/assessment of high acuity patients, therapy education, procedural education, medication administration and management, responding to clinic emergencies, port maintenance, collaboration with multiple disciplines / infusion / scheduling / lab management
Provide safe, effective, and specialized nursing care in an ambulatory care clinic setting.
Perform phone triage, including assessment, screening, clinical advice, nurse visits (in person/virtual/phone visits), in-clinic hands on procedures, and other duties assigned.
Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel; collaborate with colleagues, other disciplines, and health care/community services to promote continuity of care.
Direct outpatient clinical support through In-Basket messages and telephone triage supporting a seamless delivery of care.
Work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and ancillary services to provide high quality effective patient care.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period.

Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Required Qualifications*
A current licensure as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of Michigan
Minimum of four (4) years RN experience
One (1) year of RN experience in Oncology, within the last two (2) years
Current BLS Certification from the AHA

Desired Qualifications*
Recent experience with Lung, Esophageal, GI, Pancreas or Liver Oncology patients
Ambulatory Care Experience with telephone triage/symptom management within the last two (2) years
BSN
Previous experience using clinical protocols to make decisions for adult patients and facilitating education staff when new protocols are developed or modified
Experience with MiChart, EPIC, CISCO Finesse, Word and Excel
OCN certification will be given preference
Work Schedule
Hours: 40 hours per week (1.0)
Shift: Days (8hr shifts), Monday through Friday, and may include Saturday/Sunday/Holidays in the future if clinic hours are expanded. Hours may be variable based on the patient and volume needs
Location: Rogel Cancer Center in Ann Arbor, Blue Team. There is a potential to work in other locations with expansion of the Cancer Center.
**All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit (s) in times of low census.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
