Job Summary
The U-M Department of Cardiac Surgery is seeking an individual to assist with various activities related to the Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) program. The selected candidate will provide general administrative support to team members by assisting with assorted projects and tasks. This may include creating and editing documentation, entering data and querying databases, generating reports, filing and organizing paperwork and/or study binders, assisting clinical and research personnel as needed, and performing other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
In this role, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Learn medical terminology and work in a professional healthcare setting.
- Interact with experienced administrative, clinical, and research personnel at various levels.
- Develop a basic understanding of administrative, clinical, and research processes within an academic medical center.

- Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills as well as a service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft office software products.
Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday.
- Approximately 10 hours per week.

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
