Responsibilities*

Alexey Nesvizhskii's laboratory in the Department of Pathology is seeking a new team member to assist with the analysis of mass spectrometry data from cancer proteogenomics studies. This individual will contribute to the maintenance and development of existing computational tools and algorithms in the lab for processing and visualizing proteomics data using the FragPipe and FragPipe-Analyst platforms. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with other lab members, including Ph.D. students and post-doctoral research fellows, and will have opportunities to contribute to new algorithm developments. Applicants should possess a Master's degree or higher in Bioinformatics or a related field, along with proficiency in R, Java, and Python programming. Demonstrated practical experience with the analysis of proteomics data using FragPipe and FragPipe-Analyst platforms is essential. 

Required Qualifications*

  • Master's degree or higher in Bioinformatics or a related field.
  • 1 or 2 years systems analysis/programming activities in a business environment.
  • Practical experience with the analysis of mass spectrometry data using FragPipe and FragPipe-Analyst.
  • Strong programming skills in R, Python, and Java.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and visualization of proteomics data.
  • Experience with integration and analysis of multi-omics data from cancer proteogenomics studies.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience running data analysis pipelines on Windows, Linux, and AWS.
  • Academic background in mass spectrometry and proteomics.
  • Experience with building user interfaces, web servers, and application programming interfaces (APIs).

Background Screening
