Job Summary
The Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) is looking for business systems analysts to join the enrollment management technology team. The team member will help design, develop and maintain systems that support OEM's efforts to reach our enrollment goals and support students, faculty and staff in their use of administrative systems. The incumbent will be expected to rotate and apply expertise to several OEM projects, under the direction of the Executive Director of Enrollment Management Technology Solutions.
The incumbent may lead and/or participate in cloud product implementations and system maintenance for all offices across OEM, and develop systems that can help offices improve efficiency and anticipate future events through the use of artificial intelligence (AI). The team member may also participate in Oracle Campus Solutions system project implementations in partnership with central Information Technology Services.

Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) manages U-M's enrollment function to efficiently optimize students' experiences throughout their engagement, from prospect to alumni. The division collaborates with campus partners, faculty, and staff in support of the university's mission.
OEM comprises a dedicated team of more than 200 full-time staff members and up to 400 additional student and temporary staff and is structured in five operational units - the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid, the Office of New Student Programs, the Office of the Registrar, and OEM Administration. OEM strives to provide excellence in access and support to inspiring learners who will challenge the present and enrich the future.
Responsibilities*
- Manages projects for both initial software implementations and ongoing system maintenance; tracking tasks, resources, and timelines.
- Leads the exploration, recommendation, selection and implementation of software to meet university business requirements.
- Gathers and documents business requirements through subject matter expert interviews and contextual inquiry.
- Investigates software functionality and options in order to recommend process improvement and to optimize the unit's use of a product's functionality.
- Tests system configurations and functionality, including building of comprehensive test plans.
- Documents system functionality, including procedure and process change impacts for staff both internal and external to OEM.
- Supports staff both internal and external to OEM on problems/issues with system. Troubleshoots system issues, providing solutions to the problems.
- Performs analysis of necessary integration with other university systems, including Oracle Campus Solutions.
- Liaises between the business offices and ITS on system requirements for the University Oracle Campus Solutions SIS implementation.
- Serves as a project team member on Campus Solutions system projects.
- Performs system maintenance and documentation updates related to product upgrades and continuous process improvement.
- Participates in the Request For Proposal (RFP) process for selection of vendors to meet university business requirements.
- In collaboration with the executive director, may serve as information technology administrator. May coordinate conference room audio/visual equipment needs and changes, assist with hardware purchases, computer refreshes, delivery and deployment.
- May assist the executive director with tracking payments and balancing the technology contracts budget.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Five years of experience in business systems analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to understand technical information, and communicate it to others using clear, concise, and user-friendly language.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desired Qualifications*
- Experience working in higher education.
- Working knowledge and some experience with Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Prior experience with Oracle Campus Solutions architecture and PeopleSoft applications.
- Project management experience; ability to track multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines with frequently changing priorities.
- Working knowledge and experience with Python.
Modes of Work
The Office of Enrollment Management requires a hybrid work arrangement of a minimum of three days on-site and two remote days. Thursday is an on-site work day for all divisional staff, and this leadership role may require daily work onsite at certain times. Learn more about the work modes.
