Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support ongoing research projects within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at University of Michigan. The Research Assistant will work under the supervision of the principal investigator and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to contribute to data collection, analysis, literature reviews, and report preparation. The focus will also include building and assessing patient education materials.

Responsibilities*
- Assist in designing, planning, and conducting research experiments or studies.
- Collect, clean, and analyze quantitative and/or qualitative data.
- Conduct literature reviews and summarize findings relevant to ongoing projects.
- Maintain accurate records of research activities and findings.
- Assist in the preparation of manuscripts, grant proposals, reports, and presentations.
- Coordinate with other research team members and administrative staff.
- Ensure compliance with institutional review board (IRB) and research ethics protocols.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree
- Demonstrated experience with data collection and basic statistical analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow research protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or relevant data analysis software.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Desired Qualifications*
- Master's degree or progress toward a graduate degree in a related field.
- Experience with advanced statistical methods or qualitative data analysis.
- Previous experience in academic or laboratory research.
- Familiarity with Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes and research ethics.
- Proficiency with programming or data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, STATA, SAS, MATLAB, NVivo).
- Strong organizational and project management skills.

Background Screening
