Job Summary
We seek a highly motivated Research Associate to contribute to qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research projects within the onWHARD group to work with clinical research activities within the Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department. We are looking for a candidate who can work independently, and in collaboration with multiple project PIs, community members, stakeholders, and other partners with guidance.
The successful candidate will support, and report to, the Principal Investigator (PI), Director of Communications, and Director of Research Operations. This reporting structure reflects the varied responsibilities of this position, extending across the team's research activities, including developing project protocols, conducting thematic analysis, and managing/facilitating collaboration (including via cloud software). This role requires an individual capable of working independently, while operating within team workflows and under general supervision for data collection, analysis, and reporting/dissemination of research findings.

Responsibilities*
Research Design and Implementation:
- Develop and write research project protocols and related study documents, in both English and Spanish, for qualitative and mixed methods research projects.
- Prepare grant application materials for submission to funding agencies and foundations.
- As needed, support development/refinement of research tools, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Qualitative Data Management:
- Ability to review and code qualitative transcripts in both English and Spanish to identify themes.
- Manage qualitative thematic analysis using specialized software.
- Conduct literature reviews to inform research findings.
Quantitative Data Management and Survey Methodology:
- Assist in the design and development of surveys in both English and Spanish, ensuring alignment with research objectives.
- Manage quantitative data collection processes, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Support development of complex REDCap databases for survey implementation.
- Analyze quantitative data using appropriate statistical methods and software tools.
- Integrate quantitative findings with qualitative insights to support research conclusions.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Oversee recruitment; participate in and conduct interviews of research subjects.
- Oversee maintenance of accurate and confidential records of interviews.
- Analyze collected data and summarize findings.
Communication and Coordination:
- Prepare newsletters and update project materials for dissemination.
- Maintain and update project website content.
- Manage and respond to project-related correspondence.
Team and Resource Management:
- Maintain cloud-based software access and permissions for team members.
- Supervise undergraduate research assistants, ensuring timely task completion and acting as a liaison between students and faculty.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare summaries of project results and draft articles, reports, and presentations.
- Provide faculty researchers with ready access to all experimental data and summaries.
Professional Development:
- Attend project meetings, area seminars, and other related meetings as necessary.
- Collaborate with research partners and stakeholders to enhance project outcomes.
Required Qualifications*
- PhD or PostDoc with 3 years experience or Master's degree with 6 years of experience or equivalent experience in a public health field, psychology, epidemiology, etc.
- Experience with qualitative research methods and thematic analysis.
- Must be proficient in qualitative and quantitative data analysis software and cloud collaboration tools.
- Proficient in Spanish Language to develop Spanish language materials, conduct interviews, review transcripts, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Innovative, detail-oriented, and passionate about qualitative research.
- Passion to engage in meaningful research and contribute to advancing knowledge in the field of Women's Health.
Desired Qualifications*
- Experience working with Hispanic & Spanish speaking communities strongly desired.
- Experience supervising or mentoring students is a plus.

Additional Information
This is a 1-year term-limited appointment with the possibility of extension for an additional year. At the end of the stated term, your appointment will terminate, and will not be eligible for Reduction-in-Force (RIF) benefits. This term-limited appointment does not create a contract or guarantee of employment for any period of time as you will remain subject to disciplinary or other performance measures, up to and including termination, at the will of the University in accordance with existing University policy and standards for employee performance and conduct.
Background Screening
