Job Summary

The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation is seeking a Research Area Specialist Intermediate to support communication between our sponsors, assist in the development of intervention tools, and function as a point person for our state-wide network of consultants and care providers.

Responsibilities*

  • Leading interaction with our internal research team
  • Facilitating communication with our consultant network
  • Completing forms and reports for our sponsors
  • Managing consultant payments
  • Survey development
  • Assisting with organization and dissemination of information across the HOMES network
  • Assisting in developing intervention materials
  • Developing skills in the use of CANVA or similar product design software

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position.
  • 4 to 5 years related experience.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Master's degree 
  • Supervisory and financial management experience preferred.

Additional Information

This is a part-time and term-limited position with a current end date of Jun 30, 2027. At the end of the stated term, your appointment will terminate, and you will not be eligible for Reduction-in-Force (RIF) benefits. This term-limited appointment does not create a contract or guarantee of employment for any period of time as you will remain subject to disciplinary or other performance measures, up to and including termination, at the will of the University in accordance with existing University policy and standards for employee performance and conduct.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
