Job Summary
The eCities Student Intern will work closely with iLabs leadership on the annual eCities research project. This position is for a current UM-Dearborn student.
Responsibilities*
- Coordinate the collection, organization, and analysis of publicly available data
- Support qualitative research efforts
- Create reports and other project materials
- Management of other daily aspects of the project as needed
Required Qualifications*
- Candidate must be a current UM-Dearborn student
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and multitask with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Proven ability to effectively communicate with project stakeholders both verbally and in written communication
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative research techniques
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Desired Qualifications*
- Experience with client management
- Experience with economic development policies and best practices
- Experience with state and federal government data sources
- Project management experience

- Research and analytical skills: Students will gain hands-on experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing large amounts of data and learn how to translate data into meaningful reports and insights
- Project management: Students will improve time management and multitasking by working independently and meeting deadlines, and develop organizational skills by managing various parts of a research project
- Communication: Students will strengthen their verbal and written communication skills through interaction with project stakeholders and learn how to professionally present research findings in reports
- Other: Get exposure to economic development and public policy through work with government websites
