Job Summary
Experience+ facilitates the Wolverine Mentor Collective (WMC) program for the UM-Dearborn campus. The Wolverine Mentor Collective Lead Mentor assists the Experience+ Project Manager in our mentoring program management in addition to additional Experience+ responsibilities. They will work alongside another lead mentor in facilitating the mentoring experience and supporting program goals.
Responsibilities*
- Lead recruitment efforts for the WMC program
- Facilitate mentor communication including managing insight flags submitted by mentors, making appropriate recommendations for follow-up and providing information about campus resources
- Assist in training and supporting mentors
- Plan, attend, and support events and workshops for WMC participants
- Participate in bi-weekly staff meetings as well as individual meetings with WMC team members
- Effectively network and partner with student organizations and other campus units
- Perform other Experience+ duties as assigned
- Represent the office and University in a respectful and professional manner
Required Qualifications*
- Must be an Orientation Leader for Summer 2025
- Must have good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to have a positive attitude while giving and receiving constructive feedback
- Ability to work with and support a diverse campus community of students, staff, alumni, and employers
- Genuinely enjoy helping people
- High level of interpersonal skills: can listen effectively and interact with people appropriately and professionally
- Ability to work 5-10 hours per week in a hybrid format
- Comfortable with the Microsoft Office/Google Suites, web conferencing apps such as Zoom (office computers are Windows-based), and willingness to learn multi-line phone system
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment with high efficiency and productivity, including setting and monitoring own work hours
Desired Qualifications*
- Qualify for Federal Work Study
- Ability to work Summer 2025 and Fall 2025 minimally
- Familiarity with the Wolverine Mentor Collective and other Experience+ Initiatives
