Job Summary
The Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology is seeking applications for a 100% LEO Lecturer I position teaching BIOLOGY 172, "Introductory Biology - Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental," and BIOLOGY 225, "Principles of Human and Animal Physiology". The responsibilities will include coordinating remote lectures, teaching discussion sections, general course communication/support, and holding office hours. The appointment is for Fall Term 2025 only (August 25 - December 8, 2025).
Terms and conditions of employment for this position as posted are subject to the provisions of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the University of Michigan and the Lecturers Employee Organization.
The anticipated schedule for the Fall term is listed below:
BIOLOGY 172 Remote Lecture Coordination: Tuesday and Thursday 2:30-4:00pm
BIOLOGY 172 Discussion (three 90-minute sections): times/days TBD
BIOLOGY 225 Remote Lecture Coordination: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:00-10:00am

Required Qualifications*
The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field and be knowledgeable in the topics covered in the courses BIOLOGY 172, "Introductory Biology - Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental," and BIOLOGY 225, "Principles of Human and Animal Physiology" at the University of Michigan.
Desired Qualifications*
Qualified candidates should be fluent in the area of expertise and exhibit evidence of excellent teaching skills.
