Full Time Salary range: $130,630 - $200,734 / year

Responsibilities*
- Management of individuals at increased risk for the development of breast cancer through both in person and virtual visits
- Direct care and management of patients in the outpatient setting which includes: performing history and physical, breast cancer risk assessment, counseling patients on both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic risk-reducing strategies, managing individuals on chemoprevention medications, development of follow up screening plans, identification of individuals eligible for prevention clinical trials, patient and family education, counseling and support, collaboration and referral to other services and provision of education to nursing staff, students and community providers.
- Management of chemoprevention related toxicities
- Symptom management
- Review laboratory, pathology and radiographic test results
- Ongoing monitoring of patients requiring surveillance
- Participation in clinical research
- Collaborate with other specialties within the Cancer Center in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs for increasing knowledge and skills
- Working collaboratively with other APPs in the provision of care for this patient population including covering for colleagues when needed
- Participate in workshops, conferences or other CME activities pertaining to oncology and breast cancer risk
- Attend programmatic meetings or Cancer Center meetings and occasionally attend regional or national meetings
- Programmatic development of a dedicated high-risk breast program, including development of patient educational materials, liaise with community and internal referring providers, support streamlined workflow, and drive quality improvement initiatives
Roles and responsibilities may be periodically adjusted as determined by the needs of the Cancer Center Clinical Program.
Required Qualifications*
NP:- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
- Current specialty certification to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan Certification as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP, Adult NP or FNP
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN)
- Current DEA registration required
- BLS (American Heart Association-AHA) required
- Satisfactory completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or one of its predecessor agencies, CAHEA or CAAHEP.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan.
- State of Michigan Controlled Substance License Required
- Current DEA registration required
- BLS (American Heart Association-AHA) required
NP and PA:
- 1-2 years of APP experience

Work Schedule
Hours: 40 hours/week
Shift: Day shift
Location: Rogel Cancer Center and Brighton Center for Specialty Care- Gold Team primary with additional assignment to the Blue or Maize Cancer Center teams if needed

Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Physician Assistants of Michigan Medicine, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
